Betty Miles

| Betty Miles, Nee Batchelor, was born in San Diego, California in 1940 and spent her youth in Shelton, Washington. Upon graduating in 1969 from the renowned Cornish College of Allied Arts, where she learned her discipline from such outstanding teachers as Bill Cumming, she visited all the major museums in Madrid, Paris, Cairo, New York, London, and Tokyo. Though she began her career in watercolors Betty found acrylics a medium that perfectly matched her style-bold, bright scenes captured in her studio on Samish Island, Washington. The images are peaceful glimpses of life amongst her large gardens pond and tame deer. Betty has exhibited in Seattle at the venerable Kirsten Gallery, and Nordstrom Stores and is represented in many private collections. Olde National Bank purchased five of her watercolors. |
